Japan TV is the shit!

One of my favorite sites, Tv in Japan, has posted a new show that shows off some new kick ass technology. It demonstrates “the real-time integration of interactive 3D graphics into live video flows”. To understand what that means, watch the video below. Now, it comes in two parts, so you’ll have to go to their site to watch the second clip. This shit would be great for children’s books and students that need some interactivity to assist in learning. This would help me a lot if it were incorporated into some of my courses – namely calculus. “Oooh, look! Pie over x minus 2 squared is coming at you! Watch out!!! Now graph its partial derivative in terms of y!!”

  1. Pretty cool. It’d be even better if everyone wore headset display things all the time. Or had computer displays in their retinas. Then it could be fun and useful in the real world, other than having to view everything through a tiny cell phone screen.

I think the Playstation 3 will have games that use this sort of technology in the near future, with the next-gen EyeToy.
